Class Requirements

                                          Requirements and Information
  *** For all courses without proper riding gear you will not be permitted to ride.

Motorcycle Rider Training of Indiana affirms it has completed all necessary requirements to be considered a
Motorcycle Operator Safety Education Course approved by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles for purposes of
IC 9-24-8-4 and is hereby authorized to issue skills and written tests waiver to any applicants that have
successfully completed the course.

BRC
•        Cost: $100.00
•        Age: You must be 15 1/2  years or older (under 18 requires signed parental waiver)
•        
No learners permit or license is required to take this course
•        Motorcycles are provided for this course
•        Students should provide the following gear: DOT helmet, eye protection, long sleeves, long pants(without holes),
full-finger gloves, and sturdy over-the-ankle footwear
•        Successful completion of the course will waive the state skills and written test for licensing
•        Successful completion of the course may qualify you for an insurance discount
•        Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the class begins
•        
There are no refunds and registration is NOT transferable.
•        This course is pass or fail. MRT assumes no responsibility for any student completion of these          
rider education courses. To complete the course you must attend all sessions and pass a written and riding evaluation.

BRC 2

•        Cost $75.00
•        Must have a motorcycle learners permit or endorsement
•        Must provide your own motorcycle
•        Must provide proof of insurance
•        Students should provide the following gear: DOT helmet, eye protection, long sleeves, long pants (without holes),   
full-finger gloves, and sturdy over-the-ankle footwear
•        Successful completion of the course will waive the state skills and written test for licensing
•        Successful completion of the course may qualify you for an insurance discount
•        Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the class begins
•

3WBRC

•        Successful completion of the course will waive the state skills and written test for licensing
•        Successful completion of the course may qualify you for an insurance discount
•        Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the class begins

The BRC 2 is a one day course that compliments the BRC. It is the next step up conducted on your motorcycle.

Advanced Rider Course is a one-day course that complements a rider's basic skills and helps with personal risk assessment.
It includes a fast-paced classroom segment with several interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness.
Range exercises enhance both basic skills and crash avoidance skills. Improving braking and cornering finesse is emphasized.
The course is beneficial for riders on any type of street motorcycle.

The Three Wheel Rider Course is a two-day course. This course covers the fundamentals for you to develop your capabilities
to become a safe and responsible three wheel rider.  It provides the opportunity for you to learn the physical and mental skills
important for operating a 3WMC.

Successful completion of a recognized motorcycle safety course will waive the state skills and written tests required for
licensing. Participants under sixteen years of age are eligible to receive a waiver of the skills and written tests required to
obtain a motorcycle endorsement however, be aware that a waiver of the skills and written test is valid for one year from the
date of successful completion of the course which could be prior to the participant’s eligibility to obtain a driver’s license.
